The initials O.T.O. stand for Ordo Templi Orientis, the Order of the Eastern Temple, and they also possess additional meanings known only to inductees of the Order's mysteries.  O.T.O. is a serious and secret Order, pledged to the high purpose of securing the Liberty of the individual, and his or her advancement in Light, Wisdom, Understanding, Knowledge and Power, through Beauty, Courage and Wit, on the Foundation of Universal Brotherhood.

O.T.O. accepts as an integral part of its goals and methods the Law of Thelema, as expressed in the Book of the Law, Liber AL vel Legis, delivered to Aleister Crowley in the city of Cairo in 1904 e.v. The Order offers esoteric instruction through dramatic ritual, guidance in a system of illuminated ethics, and fellowship among aspirants to the Great Work of realizing the divine in the human. The Sovereign Sanctuary of the Order is a body of men and women who are custodians of its supreme secret, which has been alleged to be a technique of sexual magick.

O.T.O. does not offer the sort of individual mentorship and formal supervision associated with some other esoteric and magical orders, such as A.'.A.'.. The Order is most visibly a community of initiates who share certain ideals regarding the quest for peace and wisdom.

In addition, the Oasis in association with the Victorious City Lodge is committed to maintaining a dedicated temple space for O.T.O. ceremonies and classes, to the promotion of social networking among Thelemites and occultists in Victoria and elsewhere, to the periodic production of ritual theater for the interested public, and to the support of other projects that develop and extend Thelemic culture.
